I’m Debbie Deknight, founder of Right Way Profits, the Calhoun, Georgia practice I’ve run for the better part of a decade. Before that, I spent two decades in accounting, learning how owners actually use their numbers, or don’t. I hold the Master Certified Profit First Professional credential, one of fewer than one hundred worldwide, and I work alongside owners who want their books, their cash, and their strategy handled by one person who knows the whole picture.
What I try to be for clients is a real financial partner, not the person who hands you a binder once a year and disappears. The numbers get walked through together until you can read them on your own and decide accordingly.
It starts with getting honest about where the business actually stands. I take a careful look at your books, your software, your reporting, and your cash, then come back with what’s working, what isn’t, and what to handle first.
Then comes the build. The cash plan you can actually feel in the bank balance, the account discipline that protects profit before it can disappear, and the dashboards and reporting cadence that finally show where the money goes. The financial infrastructure I build covers all of it.
From there, I stay. Monthly reviews, accountability for the numbers, and a phone you can actually pick up when something material lands. The work isn’t a project that ends; it’s a working rhythm you can plan around.
The way I work is alongside the owner, not above them. Decisions get made together, with the same numbers in front of both of us. When something matters, I’m in the conversation while it’s happening, not catching up on it the next quarter. How the engagement runs day to day shows what that actually looks like.
